What University Students Thinkg About Art, & Self-Care

During Park(ing) Day, I set up a small art exhibit and journaling space to ask people one question:

Is art actually self-care?

In this conversation, I sit down with Elise, a fifth-year Urban Studies student at the University of Calgary, to talk about creativity, self-expression, and why journaling might be one of the simplest forms of self-care there is.

Watch the interview here:

In this video, you’ll learn:

  • Why self-expression is often one of the most overlooked forms of self-care
  • How some people practice creativity by facilitating art spaces for others
  • Why journaling can help you understand your thoughts and emotions more clearly
  • A simple mindset shift if you're curious about starting a journaling practice
