I Got Trained in Trauma-Informed Care - Here's What I Learned

I’ve heard the phrase “trauma-informed” for years, so when I finally took a full Trauma and Violence-Informed Care training, I didn’t expect much more than clarification.

What I didn’t expect was a shift in how I understand behaviour — mine included.

👉 Watch the video here:

In this video, you’ll learn:

  • What trauma-informed care actually is (and what it isn’t)
  • Why trauma and violence don’t stay neatly in the past
  • The four key elements of trauma-informed care, explained through lived experience
  • How a simple reframe can reduce judgement and increase compassion
  • Why this approach matters whether you work in a helping role or not

This isn’t a training or a how-to, but more of a reflection of my experience and what you can expect if you choose to take the training.
